Elephant staghorn ferns are a type of staghorn fern that can grow up to six feet tall and produce mature shield leaves over 2.5 feet wide. They have long, skirt-shaped leaves that are highly textured and do not branch. The upright, wavy leaves at the top of the plant form a crown. Elephant staghorn ferns prefer consistently moist soil around their tufted roots.
